We have a bleeding heart plant near our front entry. Every Spring it's loaded with blossoms. It has such unusual blooms. It's easy to see where it got it's name!

One of the pretty, yellow tulips in our backyard. We have to enjoy them now, because they don't last long!

It's been kind of a dreary, rainy day today, but don't you think it gives another type of beauty?

I was driving home last night, and the sky looked so pretty with the sun setting, I stopped at the side of the road to take this picture. These are dried old weeds, but I thought they made a nice silhouette in front of the sunset.

We have a Maple tree in our backyard. Every year, I know that Spring is officially here when the leaves come out on it. So - it's official and I am happy!

I visited my Dad today at the long term care center where he is receiving physical therapy after his total knee replacement. He's doing great and is supposed to go home on Friday.
This fence borders the parking lot there. I love the old vines crawling across it and the vinca flowers bordering it.

I have this little canvas bag I carry my lunch and a book to work in. Oliver is fascinated by it, and seems to find it wherever I leave it when I get home. He loves to lay on it and always lays his face on the strap. I don't get it - it's not even soft, but he sure likes it!

When I picked Heather up from work last night, the sun was setting. I love to see the silhouette of a tree in front of a sunset!

We have a dwarf lilac bush in our front yard landscaping. It gets flowers just like a regular lilac, but it stays small. I was happy to see the buds on it - won't be long till it's blooming!

April 14

I spent the day at the hospital yesterday while my Dad had surgery. He had a knee replacement surgery and the surgery went well. He did end up spending the night in ICU though, because of some low blood pressure problems. He is doing well today!
When we left the hospital last evening, we passed this building. Aren't those trees beautiful?

Dogwood trees are beautiful from a distance and close up too!

It's just beautiful here today. The rain that fell last week, has everything looking green. The trees are starting to bud and there are a few flowers blooming. One of my favorite things to see in the Spring, are the dogwood trees blooming. Don't they look pretty at the edge of the woods?

This is what the back of an SUV looks like after 3 women have spent a whole day shopping at Ikea! (There is more in the back seat...)
My 2 daughters and I went to the Ikea about 2 1/2 hours from our house on Friday. We stayed overnight and stopped back in this morning for a few things we forgot before heading home. We had so much fun together and got lots of good deals!

April 7

Our Forsythia bushes are blooming. These flowers don't last long, but give such a nice splash of yellow.
Speaking of splashes - it's raining again today, and the weathermen are saying we could have snow tomorrow!

April 6

It really rained here today. We were under Severe Thunderstorm and Flood Warnings for much of the day. Some roads were impassable due to the water on them.
This is usually just a small creek, about 1/4 to /3 of the size it was when I drove by today.

This is a last remnant of a blossom on our hydrangea tree. This year the flower heads stayed on all through the winter. You can see what it looked like this winter, here. The other day Bob clipped all the old blossoms off, but this little section stayed, and I thought it looked kind of pretty, even though it's kind of withered.

What a beautiful Spring day we had today. I was out and noticed lots of people out walking and riding their bikes. As you can see by the picture, even the cows came out today!
This cow stood and watched me as I tried to get his picture, but didn't want to come any closer, so I couldn't get a close up shot of him.
