Winter in West Michigan usually involves a lot of snow.  This year we've had very little but last week we got dumped on.  (16 inches in one week!)

I have to say, I think all barns look beautiful with snow on them - especially red ones.  This is my neighbors barn, sporting a nice covering of white.

January 24

We've been hit with Lake effect snow here in southwest Michigan.  We've gotten over a foot of snow since Sunday.  It means the roads aren't too good, but it sure is beautiful!  I took this picture out of a window at work.

I was driving home on Saturday night, admiring a gorgeous sunset when I saw this barn.   It was almost too dark to take the picture, but the combination of old barn and sunset was too much to ignore!

This is a barn I pass often and I always admire it.  It's just a simple red barn, but it's well kept up.  Every year at Christmas, they hang wreaths on the doors. I was going to try to get a picture in December, but never made it.  When I saw the wreaths were still on the doors the other day, I decided better late than never!

Don't the wreaths look perfect against these red doors?
