I love summer in the country!

I've got a special barn to share today. This barn began it's life as a one room school house, and it was the school that my 81 year old Dad and his 9 siblings attended as children. It's been used as a barn since before I was born and that's over 50 years.



It's had a few additions, lost it's front door and gained a big sliding door and hasn't had a coat of paint in some time, but it still has charm!

I love the old windows.

I wonder how long this section has been here.





And look what I found in the addition on the left side! Another neat piece of history!

June 4

I was driving on a back road when I saw what looked like a barn, swallowed up in the trees.
Of course, I immediately slowed down to check it out.



This was the view I had as I got close to it.

A little further, and it's obvious that what was once a barn, is no longer!

And here is the view from the front. You can see the bones of a nice structure, but now much of it is a pile of rubble. I wonder what animals may have called it a home and what about the farmer who worked in it? It's sad to see a barn in this condition.

Dark clouds over newly cut hay.

I love seeing the rows of new growth in the fields. It's such a happy time of year!

This old barn is near the exit on a highway near me. I love it's shape and the faded wood. I don't love the sign on it, because I'm sure that if the land sells, the barn will be torn down. I imagine the land is quite valuable, considering it's location near the highway. It's not in good condition, but it's good enough to store an RV.




Here is the house, right near to the barn. I think it's also quite charming!

It was a beautiful morning! I took this picture on my way to work. The leaves on this tree aren't fully open and I think that makes the silhouette of the tree even prettier!

This is a classic old barn I pass nearly every day. As I was going to work the other morning, I pulled over to take this picture because the sun was just coming up and the light was so pretty. I like the faded, red paint and the rye grass growing in front of it.
