Sunday was a hard day for our church. Our beloved Pastor Paul has been called to another ministry. He is a chaplain in the Navy Reserves and has been called to Washington DC to begin a new chaplain program for the Merchant Marines. He has been at our church for almost 8 1/2 years and has been such a blessing to us.
Paul and his wife Nancy have been good friends and I know this isn't a forever goodbye, but it is the end of their time here in our church fellowship.
This picture was taken this morning when some of the church leaders commissioned Paul and prayed for him as he begins this new calling.

It is sad when the church loses a cherished member.
Change is always difficult, especially when you are fond of your church leader.
what a beautiful picture!
That's always a sad day for a Church Body even when you know they are being faithful to God calling them to a different assignment.

What a hard day - I'm sure there were even tears. I know God will bless you with another pastor that you will grow to love. Parting is so hard...
I've experienced this at my Church too and know it can be difficult, but God always knows what he's doing. My brother and sister in law are Pastors and so far they've not been called to another Church, but we all know it could happen.
Great photo. Thanks for sharing.
Bittersweet, I'm sure. God bless their family.
We definitely will miss him!! We have been SO blessed to have Pastor Paul and Pastor Steve.
I loved this photo.....what a humble man.
I took alot from this post and I am sure you all will miss your Pastor but just know that that God "stratigically" places men and women of God where they need to be....so you all are still in good shape! :~) He's got your new Pastor ready for you all.
This is my first time visiting you.
Just wanted to say "Hi"...and be blessed,
Joyce in Baton Rouge
