July 12

A common saying from the farmers around here is "knee high by the Fourth of July", which is talking about how high the corn should be by that date. This year the corn is considerably taller, after lots of rain this Spring, followed by lots of sunshine!
I don't know why this old tractor was sitting in the cornfield, but I liked the greens of the corn and tractor, next to that blue sky, so I pulled over to take a picture.

Great shot Mari! The corn has shot up here too. I hadn't even noticed it and now it's about 4 ft high! Great shot!

Well, being a farmer's daughter, I gotta love this one. It also reminds me now, of the movie CARS where Mater teases the sleeping tractors. LOL

Love the Chime Tower below! I'll try and come back to view more when I have some time.

:-) Thanks for visiting my blog!
Regarding daylight in Iceland:
Actually, we get nights back now. In June, you can sit outside and read the newspaper during day and night. "Official" sunset is after midnight and sunrise around 2 a.m.. But it´s not getting really dark between that. Different matter during winter. Just 4 hours of daylight in December. Good thing that there are the Northern lights to compansate for the missing light during the day.

Good Morning Mari Sweetie...
What a beautiful share this morning. I so adore this photo. It takes me home to Oklahoma. I love the John Deere in the photo. Doesn't get any better than that.

Beautiful sky in the background. Such a pretty day.

Thank you for sharing. Hope you a beautiful day today.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

Dave and I were commenting the other day about how tall the corn is this year.

Hey Mari, just catching up on all the photo's I have missed. As always you wow me. I think one of my favs is the one of the amish boys with their sign and the laundry hanging on the line!

We saw a lot of cornfields and old barns on our drive. Every time I saw a barn that appeared to be abandoned I would wonder about the story behind it.
