March 28

We have an oak leaf hydrangea near our front porch. I love seeing how the leaves slowly unfurl in the Spring.

This is another barn I found when we were in Kentucky. I always like barns that show a little wear and tear, and this one has that. I love the shape of this barn and the worn paint.

I found this old barn when we were in Kentucky. I love the peak at the top and I wonder what it looked like in it's prime.

We're having beautiful weather here with much warmer temperatures than normal. It's looking like Spring with the crocus blooming and the trees budding.
I'm loving it!

In honor of Saint Patrick's Day, this man came to the Nursing Home I work at, to play and sing some Irish music. He played these bagpipes and some type of old Irish flute.
It was fun to listen to and our residents really enjoyed it!

I took this picture a few weeks ago after a heavy snow. I love the weathered wood, the row of windows and the fence in the front.

Here's the back of the barn. Aren't these some great looking cows?

Isn't this a great barn? I like its shape, the weathered wood, the setting and the stone foundation. I also like its story.
This barn belongs to my husbands brother. It started out in life as a much bigger barn, on a different property. When my BIL noticed a barn that was falling apart, he offered to take it down in exchange for the wood. He salvaged what he could and started building this barn on his property. He did much of the work with hand tools, and one day had a barn raising with many friends, family and people from church. The barn wasn't finished on that day but a lot was done.
We've all seen barns that were falling apart and I love how he took that old barn and made something beautiful and useful from it.

Here's a closer shot of the old implement in front of that stone foundation.
