Isn't this an unusual barn? I like all the windows, but I wonder about that door in the middle. How do you suppose they use it?

Oh, yes, this barn is very unusual! It was built in a very special way. It's so festive and I love that it has so many windows! What a beauty this barn!
to throw the hay out, in holland they used to stack the hay in the top of the building and like this it is easy to get it again...well this is my guess!!
The hay used to be tossed loose from a wagon into the hayloft for storage. It could then be shoved down through slots to feed the animals on the floor below. I think this probably looks a little different because of no door on the ground below and all those windows. Perhaps since they probably are no longer storing hay up there they may have converted it for some other use, adding the windows.
This is an unusual barn. I like the contrail in the sky pointing to it, too. I wonder what it is being used for now. Maybe the door has been closed off, or they left it as a fire escape?
“...I wonder about that door in the middle.” - I got curious that's why I look for the door in the middle and have lots of laugh when I finally saw it. But on the serious side, this barn looks great. It's so big, and I'm loving it's round roof. I think the round-roof style adds a unique character to the whole house or barn. It's good to see that this barn is still in good shape, for a change. I am a Christian wife, mom to 5 and Grandma to two adorable little girls. I have 2 daughters and a son who were born to me and 2 sons who joined our family by marrying our daughters. I have been married to a wonderful Christian man for over 30 years. I work as a nurse at a long term care center, where I am blessed to get to know many older people and their families.

I like it too. I wonder if maybe its so they can load stuff onto the top of a truck?
Interesting question. Great windows.
Maybe the hay baler is that height and in they go!
It's very pretty!
I guess you could always jump if you had to get out from up that high.

Great looking barn! Maybe they tossed hay out that door. Twyla
This is one of my favorite style of barns!
What a wonderfully shaped barn! I love how bright the white paint is.
I love the curve to the roof. Don't you think there must have been some stairs coming down from that door at one point?

Beautiful, well-kept barn! And yes, I agree, hay is (or would have been) tossed from that door.
Wish all barns could be maintained this nicely...

Very well kept!
