This is a purple Allium. We have several of these growing in our flower beds in the back yard. They grow about 3 feet tall and open up to look like a fuzzy ball. We think they are a fun addition to the flower bed.

This is what is left of an allium after the flower petals blew away. Doesn't it have an interesting look?
