This morning Andy wore his dress uniform to church. We don't get a chance to see him in it too often and always enjoy seeing him all dressed up. I took this picture of the front lapel to show his badges and ribbons. Both the gold button and the wings show that he is in the aviation field. He has 6 ribbons to show different things he has been involved in: Korean defense, National defense, global war on terror, overseas service, army service and the army achievement medal. The badge below the ribbons is a sharpshooter, marksmanship medal. I've had no family members in the military before this and find all the different medals interesting.

All of his medals are very interesting. I know you and your husband must be very proud of him and his achievements. We are such a blessed country to have men and women like your son who are willing to risk their own lives to protect those of us they will never meet! Although I don't know you or your family, please tell him I said thank you and that I will be praying for him.
Nice close up! WTG, Andy!
My goodness, he is decorated like a Christmas tree! He certainly is good at a lot of stuff!
You have a right to be proud of this young man.
Bet he looked sharp in his dress uniform. Of course you are a proud mom, you have a right to be!
Great photo, Mari, especially with the explanations you provided for everything. Andy should be so very proud. Please tell him I have said "thank you"...
I have always wondered what the metals meant. Thanks for letting us know. Also, I'm sure all of us bloggers would like to see a picture of Andy in his uniform.
