October 29

Lately it seems like there are a lot of barns being torn down around here! I passed this barn regularly and was sad to see some heavy equipment working around it, and the siding being removed.
I turned around and got a few shots of it.
The next time I went by it was gone, with no sign that a barn ever stood there.  :(

For more barns, visit Tricia at Bluff Area Daily.

I wonder what the plan is. Nice shots you took before it was torn down!

So sad. Do keep an eye and see if it is replaced. Probably with a metal one I'd bet.
I agree with Theresa, the bones of the barn appear to be relatively stable. Too bad they didn't save the frame to build a new one.
Glad you got to document that it was there.

Ooo bad that another piece of history is gone, but it didn't look terribly steady on it's feet and the roof has a bit of a sag.

Progress is good, but sad to see old barns torn down. What is it about an old barn that makes one smile...Blessings...Pam

That is sad to see the end of this barn. I hope someone reused the nice boards from it. At least you got pics of it to share. Pamela

I hate to see the old barns go. This one looked in pretty good shape. Glad you got some picks before it was gone.

Sad they tore it down, but fortunate that you were able to get some photos before it went. I hope those old barn boards are going to be reused someplace.

They don't build a new one?
I think the american barns are absolutely great!!

Too bad. The roof still looks decent and even the barn itself in the upper part looks better than many I've seen.
It's great you got a picture of it before it was gone!:>)

Sad to hear they took it down :(

I'm guessing they thought they were cleaning up the place, but, in my opinion, property looks better w/ a barn & this one wasn't even that bad... so sad! =0

So sad!
Most folks think it's better to get rid of old barns, than to preserve them. It costs more to preserve... but, it's so worth it!
Fact is... you can't replace history.

Very sad. I guess the wood was more valuable than the actual barn. Hmmmm.
