February 27

This was one of the nicest barns we saw in Kentucky. Even the fences were well kept up! We noticed that a lot of the barns there had the unusual peak off the front and there were a lot of black barns, which I've never seen here in Michigan.

For more barns, visit Tricia at Bluff Area Daily.

We don't have black barns here, either. This one is striking with the white trim, roof and fence. Even the grounds are beautifully kept.

Is it possible that a barn can be described as "elegant"? If so, this is it. It's beautiful.

Found you at Barn Charm. This is a beautiful barn ... love the color and the way it plays off that green grass. You did a great job framing this photo.

fabulous! a friend of mine had told me a lot of barns there were painted black. seems so odd to me here in texas where it gets hotter than the blazes! :)

Love it !!!!

Did I ever tell you our first church was in Florence KY. I loved the barns in the fall with the tobacco drying in them.

I agree with you we don't have black barns here in MI. I so love the color of this barn and those small windows add the charm.

This looks like it may be at a horse farm. I too don't recall seeing a black barn. I like it!

That is a really impressive barn - black is unusual for the color on a barn - but we did find many, many barns that were beautifully maintained when we were in Kentucky, usually associated with horse farms. Of course, when I was in Kentucky, I wasn't blogging, so I didn't concentrate on photographing barns and fences! My bad luck! This is a beautiful shot!

That IS a beautiful black barn... I found a black barn down the road from where I work, but nothing like this one! A lot of fencing, too!

Thanks so much for joining in =)

Another great barn shot. So glad you've been able to see your son and some great barns. I wonder if the peak off the front has or had a pulley on it for pulling in hay and such. Our old barn next door did--not nearly as ornate at this though.
