These lilacs are on our bush in the backyard. I thought I would post them today in memory of my Mom who just loved lilacs. She passed away suddenly, 6 years ago tonight. She was only 69 years old when she died. I've been thinking about her a lot today and am happy that I know I will see her in Heaven!

Thanks for sharing your mothers memory with me. I too love lilacs.
Lilacs are lovely flowers and they smell so wonderful. Great tribute to your mother!
Beautiful. Sorry for the loss of your mom. Losing a parent is tough. Recently lost my dad but we will rejoice when we see them in Heaven!

I love lilacs - but ours are long since gone. Hopefully I'll see them again next year.
With my oldest living sister being ill (stroke) this week, of course, our thoughts turn to the hereafter. My Mother, Grandmother, aunts and a beloved sister are waiting for the rest of us across the Jordon.
My mum passed away, 10 years ago, and the was only 70 years when she died - a half year after her birthday.
She never met my second son and my daughter. My daughter passed away 7 month after my mother has died.
My mother loves has loved lilacs, too!
We had a lilac bush in our yard in Montana where I grew up. I loved their amazing shape. Not only has God made unique colors, fragrances, but such varying shapes and looks of flowers. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your gift in photography. Mari, God bless and comfort you continually as you remember your precious mother. My Mom is getting ready to turn 70, and I know none of us have a guarantee of the next day with our loved ones. This post is my reminder to keep giving thanks, and keep loving!
Those are lovely lilacs Mari - Peonies remind me of my mother. My sympathies on your loss and I hope your memories comfort you.
My heart goes out to you Mari. My father passed suddenly almost 3 years ago. "Suddenly" just rocks your world - he was in great health, so vibrant and only 67. My mom is now 67 and she's a dynamo (suggested we paint my house the last week and boy did she put in her fair share of effort!!) ... I worry about her and pray I have her for a long time yet.
The lilacs are beautiful and a very lovely tribute to your wonderful mom.
