Both of my daughters had Lasik surgery today. The place they had it done at does a lot of this, and they allow people to watch it being done through a picture window. The eye shows in a big monitor above where the surgeon is sitting. I found it really interesting and amazing to see.
When we walked out of the building, Heather was thrilled at how well she could see, with no contacts! Now there are just a few weeks of eye drops and both girls will be all set!

Pretty cool but in a way pretty creepy. Only because I can't stand anything near or on my eye. I can't even use eyedrops ~ if you can believe that. I have a congenital cataract and now they're telling me they may need to take it off and I am freaked out! I will have to be anesthetized! Sorry. Didn't mean for this to be about me, but I've got the willies when it comes to eyes. This is a great photo! But I probably won't want to look at it again! Glad the girls are happy with the result. Isn't it amazing how technology is affecting our lives? And we've probably just scratched the surface!
Interesting, and amazing, yes. Best wishes with the healing of their eyes.
How wonderful for your daughters! I must say that your picture reminds me of "A Clockwork Orange" though.
love the color of her eye. so pretty.
now I can't stop rubbing my eyes!!
Speedy recovery.
Okay, I don't think I could watch that! I'm glad they could have it done and can see so well, tho.
this photo is a little hard to look at for whatever reason. maybe because the eyes are so sensitive. but on another note...
i have always wondered how well that works...my girls have asked for it. please let me know if they are happy with the results.
Very excited for your girls. I know mine would love the surgery as well.
As for the photo, just creepy!
wow what a interesting picture! good luck for the girls and their eyes.
wow, I have always wanted to have this done....but I am too chicken. After seeing this picture....I'm still to chicken!!!
Wow! That's an eye-opening shot! I'm glad Heather's vision improved immediately. It will be a relief to not have to constantly deal with contact lenses...Enjoy the weekend!
Open Wide!! I have to agree - kind of creepy. The clips that are holding the eye open look so uncomfortable! I've done my share of eye drops for this surgery while I worked at the nursing home. All clients were happy with their results. Hope your girls enjoy their new looks!
How in the world were you able to watch that. It always makes me cringe seeing eye surgery.
I hope they both heal quickly.
I agree with the first persons comment -- cool and creepy :)! So glad that your daughter's are doing well. That's the most important thing.
Hugs!
Oh wow, how cool for them! My sister in law had it done years ago, when they first started doing it and she can still see great! My son wants to have this done so badly. Hmmm, I wonder if he can get it done while he's in the army? Anyway, he really needs to have it done because he can hardly see without his contacts!
Oh my! That makes my eye hurt, just looking at this! Doesn't it hurt? Do they numb the lids? Oh, ow, I can't look any more...
