We had a beautiful sunrise today!

We went to Grand Haven last night and walked the pier. After the sunset, we were walking back in and this tall ship was headed back into port. Don't her masts look pretty against the colored sky?

The bees have really been enjoying our hydrangea tree lately. I find it hard to get a picture though - they don't sit still!

Have you ever seen a car being used as a flower box before?
I saw this cool old car sitting along the road side, and it seems that someone would want to fix it up, instead of using it as a planter! It must be too far gone.
It's kind of sad though. I'm sure someone really loved this car at one time.
Makes me think that I'm so glad God doesn't think we are too far gone to be saved and cleaned up!

Look at this cool web I found in our yard. It was covered with early morning dew, and later in the day when it was dry, it could hardly be seen. The spider was sitting in the hole, waiting for a meal to come along.

Both of my daughters had Lasik surgery today. The place they had it done at does a lot of this, and they allow people to watch it being done through a picture window. The eye shows in a big monitor above where the surgeon is sitting. I found it really interesting and amazing to see.
When we walked out of the building, Heather was thrilled at how well she could see, with no contacts! Now there are just a few weeks of eye drops and both girls will be all set!

Look who visited work today!
One of our nurses aides got a new kitten and brought her in for the residents today. Isn't she cute? Our residents were happy to see and hold her.

Yesterday Bob and I went to the Frederik Meijer Garden and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids. This is a wonderful place to visit at any time, but right now there is a special exhibit going on. Dale Chihuly, who is world renowned in the glass world has an exhibit there this summer.
We were not disappointed. Seeing all these wonderful works of art, on display in nature was wonderful!
The work above is titled "Blue Moon" and although this picture doesn't show it, it is situated on the edge of a pond and floating in the pond were numerous glass balls of many colors. It was beautiful!

Bob and I were out for a walk this evening and ran into our neighbors who were also out enjoying the beautiful weather we have had today.
We sat out on their deck and chatted for awhile. I was enjoying this view of their little barn. A window box adds charm to any building!

This morning started out a little foggy. I like to see everything shrouded in fog, as long as it's not too hard to see when you are driving. It didn't take long to clear, after the sun came up, and we had a beautiful day!

This is a hydrangea tree in our back yard. It's called a tree, but is actually a bush grafted onto a tree trunk.
I think it has more flowers this year than it's ever had. These flowers start off pure white, and gradually turn a rosy pink. They stay on the tree through out winter, by which time they are dried and are an antique mauve color. They look pretty now, and in the winter with snow hanging on them!

The farmers in our area are enjoying one of their best years in decades. The weather has been just right, with the perfect ratio of sunshine and rain. Many of them are now doing a second harvest of hay, and will most likely get a third one before summer is done.
I drove by this field early in the morning, and thought it was a great country scene!

This building is where I went to school for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Later it was used as a 1st grade building for many years. There was talk of tearing it down, but someone bought it and fixed it up. It's now a daycare center and a school of dance.
I'm so glad it was saved. I can still remember those old halls and lining up in front of those doors at the end of recess. Good memories!

I think these are some of the cheeriest flowers in our flower gardens. I love looking out my kitchen window and seeing this big splash of yellow!

These are ornamental chive, growing in one of our flower beds. They are a fun little plant!

"Oh, what a beautiful morning!"

I stopped and took this picture on my way to work. There was a lot of mist over the fields and as I drove, the sun was popping up. It's a great way to start the day!
