July 31

This barn belongs to an older man from our church. I heard a rumor that it was going to be painted soon, and I decided I better get a picture before that happened.
I love the low overhang of the roof. Can you see the swing set being covered by the vines on the left side of the barn? His kids and grand kids are grown so the swing is no longer used.

The flowering chive in our back yard are starting to bloom. I like the way this shot shows the flower before it opens and the way the individual flowers look.

It was another beautiful morning. I can't resist a hay field, especially on a misty morning!

This beautiful barn is about 5 minutes from my house. I love the unusual color, the shape and all the little details. I think the fence adds a nice touch!
Right next to it is this barn, which is enclosed in the same fence. It's smaller, but has the same details.

This cute little guy makes regular appearances on our front porch. It seems to be his favored spot to sit and eat acorns, as you can see by the remnants he's left behind. It also proves to be a good way to torture our cat, who is stuck watching him through the glass door.

I love summer mornings! There is often a light mist, when I'm on my way to work. This morning there was a mist and a glow in the air as the sun rose. It was so pretty, I took the back roads and came upon this field, bathed in this early light.

I'm posting this on Barn Charm, although I know you can't really see the barn well. I just think it's such a pretty farm setting, next to the river and trees.

We have several of these painted daisies in a flower bed in our back yard. They have such an unusual color; sometimes they appear to be orange and sometimes a pinkish shade. Regardless, they always look cheery!

I love haying season! There is nothing like the smell of the freshly cut hay drying in the field and the big round bales are so picturesque.

I found this old barn that almost looked like it was going to be swallowed up by the trees and bushes around it. I could only see this side and some of the front, the other side was completely covered.

I think these doors have their own charm with the trees edging them.

This is our front walk. I like the moss growing between the bricks. It makes it feel old and adds character!

This field is just down my road. I love the way the wild flowers on the edge of it look in the evening sun.
