It may be just a weed, but isn't it pretty in the sunshine?

This is a standard Michigan barn.  This shape seems to be the most common in my area, and most of our barns are red.  It's interesting that the side is faded to nearly gray, while the front remains quite red.  I like the double doors on front and the tin roof.

Here's a big, old barn that appears to be in pretty good shape. The silo however, looks like the vines are taking over.

A new leaf emerges from our oak leaf hydrangea and reaches for the sun.

This is a barn that I pass by frequently.  I posted it here on barn charm about 2 years ago, and I'm sad to say it's deteriorated in that time.  The roof has a bit of a curve to it now and more of the shingles are gone.
Still - it's got some charm.  I love the little dormer and the big sliding doors.

Here it is as you approach it on the road.  The side view still looks pretty good.

May 4

(Trying again - I'm told the photo didn't show up last time)

We've had a robin build a nest right outside the sitting room at the nursing home where I work.  We all watched as the nest was built and have seen Mama bird sitting on it.  I snapped this picture when she flew off for a short break.  I hope to be showing pictures of some babies soon!
