April 25

I thought I would take you with me on my walk this morning. The weathermen had predicted rain for us this afternoon. There were storms on the other side of Lake Michigan and they were coming in our direction. I decided that if I wanted to get in a walk today, I better do it right away. When I had been walking for about 20 minutes this is what things looked like:
As I was taking the picture above it started to sprinkle, but I thought I would keep going. A few drips won't melt me! Within 5 minutes it was starting to really rain and my dear husband showed up in his truck to rescue me. We came home and it stopped, but within 20 minutes it was doing this:

It got very dark and windy with torrential downpours! After about 30 minutes, it cleared up and I was able to go out and take this picture of our Lady's Mantle which is starting to come up nicely:

As I type this, we have gone through several more cycles of sun and rain. It makes for an interesting day!

The tree in the background on the second picture looks like a painting. Is that hail???

TJ - it's not hail, just large raindrops!

Lady's Mantle is one of my favorites...just for this reason you've shown - water drops look so lovely on them!
Enjoy your weekend!

Mari,

We had a windy but beautiful day here until about 5pm. Then the sky darkened and thunderstorms moved in. Torrential rain is still being whipped around by the wind. The storm has moved away several times only to reappear. Guess our weather this afternoon was much like yours.

I'm glad your husband came to get you. The rain is still quite cold at this time of year. I went out on the porch to watch the storm and had to come in because the wind was whipping the rain onto the porch.

Enjoyed your post. Thanks for the invitation.
Blessings,
Mary

Great shots! I took a pile of raindrop pictures today too. Suddenly I find the rain very inspiring thanks to project 365 lol.

I agree with TJ, that tree is an art form! I am glad that Bob came to your rescue. It isn't safe to be out in a storm.

Glad your husband rescued from the downpour!!! The photos are great ~ the tree is cool the way the rain has created the effect.
