June 13

My neighbor has this rose bush that she started with a clipping from a friends bush. The friend got it from her Grandma, so it's an old variety. It seems the older roses have a stronger sweeter smell. This one was covered with blooms and smelled wonderful!

You are so right about the fragrance! There is not a smell so wonderful as a rose.

Did you ever notice that the long stemmed roses from the florist usually have no smell? That's always so disappointing for me. But garden roses-- ahhhh, I love the way they smell.

Beautiful rose. Thank you!

Very pretty!

I had Zepherine Drouhin climbing roses where I lived a while back, and they were so fragrant.
