October 23

It was raining when I took this picture, so it's not really clear. This is our neighbors house, where, as you can see, they are happy! Ben, who is 15 years old was injured playing football on October 1. He got a closed head injury, had to go on a ventilator and had surgery that same night. He was in a coma for several days. Lots of people in our town started praying for him and today he was able to come home! He still has some short term memory problems, but it's a miracle that he is still alive, and the Dr's feel that the memory problems will resolve.
We're thankful for answered prayers!

The story makes your photo a most beautiful picture. So very glad he's recovering and at home. Give our regards to his family!

It is a happy day for that family, for sure! They now know a side of God they didn't know before. Thank you, Lord, for answering the prayers of this boy's family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ben, but glad he is home and recovering. This breaks my heart because I know what he will have to deal with, as far as the closed head injury is concerned and it's not fun. I had a closed head injury in a car accident 6 years ago and I still have problems with short term memory loss, but it's not as bad as it was and I still have problems with word finding and noise and light sensitivity, but fortunately I don't mix up my sentences or have slurred speech anymore.

Ben will probably get very frustrated at times, he will prob be more irritable than usual at times and he won't be able to handle stress as well for awhile. I hate that he has to deal with this, especially being so young! One thing that will help improve the part of the brain that affects memory is doing crossword puzzles and Simon. You remember the game Simon where you have to follow the pattern of sound and lights that light up? Anyway, just something a doctor suggested for me. Hopefully, his closed head injury was mild and will heal with full recovery. I will add him to my praer list.
