August 9

The farmers in our area are enjoying one of their best years in decades. The weather has been just right, with the perfect ratio of sunshine and rain. Many of them are now doing a second harvest of hay, and will most likely get a third one before summer is done.
I drove by this field early in the morning, and thought it was a great country scene!

It seems to be haying season all over our great nation. This is a scene I saw in my recent visit home to Texas. And it smells so good when it's freshly mowed!

Great picture - love the different colors of green and tan...

We have had a really chilly summer this year in So. Cal. it's hard to imagine that other states are having such heatwaves..

Love to you

I've been seeing lots of these round bales around here, too! The trailer is unique, however. Most hay is hauled on long flatbeds here. My husband remembers hand loading many, many square bales in the past!

We have some farmers that do round bales and wrap them in white plastic. The kids use to call them marshmellows.

Great for your farmers...

Here first it was too hot, and afterwords too wet... so the farmers are not really happy this year!
