Although I'm not usually a fan of telephone pole, as they are often in the way when I'm trying to take a picture, I thought these poles had a certain appeal with the evening sun shining on them.

This barn is near my Dad's house. It's still in use, but I wonder how long it will keep standing, with it's curvy roof and walls!

Our climbing roses are full of blooms this year. I love looking into the back yard and seeing that mass of color!

Crazy weather here tonight!
The sun was shining and it started to thunder. Before we knew it, it was dark, pouring rain and hailing. Then the power went out for a few hours.
We noticed this black squirrel on a tree in our front yard. We wondered why he just hung on the tree and didn't take cover somewhere, and then we realized that the section of the tree he was on, was the only part staying dry. Guess he was smarter than us! When it quit raining, he moved on.

Here's another old barn I found while out on a drive. It looks like it's in good condition, except for the faded paint, which I kind of like. I noticed the little shed next to it has an identical window in the peak.

This is Cranesbill Geranium, one of the perennials that's blooming in our back yard at the moment.

My daughter and I went to the Mall today to see what deals we could find. We were surprised when we pulled in to see a family of geese in the parking lot. We watched them for a few minutes as they made their way across the lot, toward a little pond. The whole time we watched, one of the adults led the way, while the other brought up the rear. Pretty cute!

This barn is simple and straight forward, nothing fancy. I could only see that one window on it, so I wonder how dark it is inside. You can see just a hint of the red paint it once sported, but it still has a glow about it, as the sun sets on another day.

Tomorrow is the last day of school around here. I think this swing is just waiting for the kids to be free to come and play!

I'm always on the lookout for barns when I'm out driving, and I was thrilled to see this unusual one on a back road near us. It's so well kept and I think it's pretty cute!

*Several people wondered if it was renovated into a house, but it's a barn, the house is just to the right of it.

I've been on a bit of a blogging break, because my son who is currently deployed to Afghanistan was home on leave for 2 weeks.
He left Saturday to return to his base after some time we all enjoyed.
This picture is one he took on his base. This is an Apache helicopter which is what he works on. I love that sky with the sunbeams over the mountains.
