March 26

This is another barn I found when we were in Kentucky. I always like barns that show a little wear and tear, and this one has that. I love the shape of this barn and the worn paint.

I like the weathered look, too, especially when it's red. I can imagine children playing in that big loft!

Beautiful red barn. It is a great shape and it's wear is wonderful.

I love the shape too and it's unusual to find one that the roof and sides are the same color....Great shot...

I love the wear too. It's unusual for the roof to be the same color. Nice shot.

It has been a while since it has seen a coat of paint. So many barns are in a state of disrepair that I wonder if farmers no longer find them useful.

Love the patina of the paint and its setting beside the railroad track!
Nice capture!

This is a beautiful red barn. We don't see many with red roofs too. Beautiful shot!

It's great that barn is in Kentucky! I love the shape, too, and it's even red! Nice find, Mari!

Nice weathered look...but I never do picture kids playing in the barns. I have a very intense fear of snakes, and it just looks like the kind of place for them to hang out...good thing my boys didn't pay much attention to my fears - they would not have had nearly as much fun! Great find!

I agree with you...the shape of this old barn is really neat. Love the rough look to it...aging paint is so appealing to my eye. The sky is such a wonderful compliment to the landscape. It set everything off beautifully. Thanks for you continuing support of my little blog and all of your kind words. genie

Oh, I just love pictures of barns. Love that first one. It has so much character. Barns and Bridges, two of my favorite things to take pictures of!

I agree it looks like it is still usable. The surrounding is neat too.

Great capture of a big, beautiful red barn! It's probably not good for the barns, but I'm drawn to the ones that show a little wear and tear too.
