August 13

I drive past this beautiful barn nearly every day, but because it's on a busy road, I haven't gotten a picture of it. I had to work this past weekend, and I was admiring the beautiful sunrise. Because it was the weekend, there was very little traffic, so I pulled off and got a few shots.

This barn was owned by a dear couple that I knew. They were married for 64 years when he died rather suddenly last year. She passed away a few weeks ago. Up till a month before his death, I would still see him out mowing the lawn and working on the yard. They were both very active at home, church and around town. You can see how well this barn was taken care of.

Here's a shot showing the front of the barn.

I think a son is living there now, and it appears that he is also keeping everything looking good.

What a beautiful barn and grounds. It was obviously well loved and I hope the couple's son will continue to take good care of it. I love the pink sunrise sky behind the barn in the first photo!

What a huge barn! I would love to see the inside.

64 years of marriage. We have a neighbor couple that has been married 65. Both are in good health and still on the ranch. They don't have any livestock or farm, but always have a pot of coffee on and stories to share.

This is very well kept. A lovely time of day for the photo, too, with the soft light.

As a reward for having to work on the weekend you got a photo of this wonderful barn and we all got to share it with you. I'm sure the old couple shared many happy hours here. Hopefully their son will love it as much as they did.
