August 9

This is what our home looked like tonight. We had a huge storm go through a little after 6pm. There were 60 mph winds, torrential rain and hail. It left us with no power, so the candles came out and we sat around reading by candle light, until 10:45 when the lights went on. It makes for a peaceful night, but I'm relieved to have power again. I was worried getting ready for work in the morning!

When this happens to our area and we are without power, the silence is "so loud". ha But I love the candles.

I hope the drive into work was beautiful after a nice rain. Hopefully no trees in your path! : )

What a beautiful picture. Excellent shot, actually. Sometimes it's nice when the power goes out and there is quiet. But... I want power in the summer. It's too hot and humid to not have AC right now!

Glad to hear that you survived the storm - and if I didn't have my hair dryer and curling iron in the morning it would be quite scarey!

Great photo. We had some intense storms today. Power was out when I got home from work. Must have been out awhile cause when the electric finally came back on the thermostat said 80 degrees in the house. Took the a/c forever to cool it down!!
Take care
