June 14

This is one of my favorite things! I love driving by a field and seeing the cut hay in rows, drying. Even better than the sight is the wonderful smell. My sister and I have decided that someone should make a candle that smells like fresh cut hay for us country folk!

I love that smell too. Yankee Candle used to have a "Fresh Cut Grass" candle that I loved, but now it is retired. There are frangrance oils you can buy that have this smell though.

OK...now I am wondering what wet hay smells like...grass and dry hay make me sneeze....

This is a wonderful idea! Even though I rarely get back to my homeland during hay season, I can still smell that wonderful raw aroma of new-cut hay in my mind!
(Have you ever noticed that cow patties also have a hint of that aroma?)

What a great pic...I could not agree more. Love the sweet smell of fresh mown hay wafting in the early morning air. The simple things are always the best. Thanks so much for visiting with me and signing up as a follower. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

I too love that smell. Our son is helping the farmer next door with his hay right now.

That is the way the fields are beginning to look here ... it's such a peaceful look.

Is that a lady driving the tractor?
Do you live near Lake Woabegone?
You know, where the men are good looking, the women are strong and the children are above average? LOL!
