June 24

My sister and I are on a short trip to Pennsylvania to meet a blogging friend. We are enjoying the beautiful countryside along with the old buildings we have seen. As you know, I love barns, and I thought this was a really neat one!

Ummmm, while this may now be a barn, it started life as a homestead; looks like it might still be a homestead. Wonder when the windows were put in? Those glass windows indicate someone had money as folks were taxed according to the number of panes of glass in their windows.
It's a beautiful building!

Have fun. Now that I have become a shutterbug, I can't wait for my upcoming trip. Will look forward to your adventures as they unfold.

How interesting about the taxes based on the number of windows!

Hi Mari! So what part of PA are you traveling to? I lived in Lancaster Co. LOTS of barns there!

Have fun! Are you with Sherry?

This is a very interesting place. Since our country began in this part of the states, that building may have been built in the 1700's.
They keep it well manicured.
