This is a little section of our front walk. As you can see there is no shortage of acorns this year. Every night we hear more acorns fall on the roof, and bounce off to the ground. Our whole yard is filled with acorns; more than I remember seeing in other years.
It's been said that lots of acorns means a bad winter. I sure hope that's not true!

I'm thinking it means it was a good summer.
Definitely a sign the Fall is coming. Fingers crossed for an easy winter.
Cheers, jj
Throw some my way Mate:D
I like the lines in this one Mari. If you want, I can send StellaDella over...she's like a squirrel and loves to collect acorns.
I guess autumn is coming! Great shot! Funny how they all end up in the cracks. I wonder if the squirrels snatch them away. Thanks for your visit. Enjoy the day.
Please say it ain't true, NO HARD WINTER!
I just heard my friend from near the college comment about all the acorns in her yard. Must be there is an over abundance this year. I think it means summer is coming quicker!
Love the contrast and blend of browns against gray. Beautiful photo that captures the season well.
I do Jigsaw puzzles on msngames and your picture looks like one they'd feature. Very cool!
Be careful you don't step on those acorns and wipe out! You have enough to deal with with the cellulitis.
All winters in Michigan are bad winters. That's why we live in Pennsylvania.
Do you have an acorn picker? Our neighbor has one and rolls it across his yard many times a day. He collects the acorns and gives them to someone to feed to deer.
autumn is coming!
Nice shot
very familiar with that sound.. The plopping sound of the acorns falling is a strangely comforting sound.
Sorry I haven't written lately - life's been too busy. I love all of your pictures.
