This huge beech tree is across the street from our home. I love to see it after it's been raining. It never seems to get wet all over; instead the water seems to run down certain areas and creates a pattern on the bark.
(I hope you don't mind that I copy and paste my reply to you on your blog....I just don't want you to have to come back and look for a reply! LOL) Anyway, here's my reply... Mari, I knew you could do it because a friend of mine told me once, that he had swiped a pic off of my blog, which at the time didn't even bother me because it was a pic of his child and most importantly, it didn't mess up my blog.
But this has never happened before, where it wiped out my background, plus let me know that a picture had been removed. So of course from now on I'd rather email the pics to whoever wants them.
It's very easy to steal a pic off of someone's blog, website or facebook, that's why so many people are smart and put watermarks on their photos. I guess it's time for me to get smart too! LOL
That Beech tree is so cool and very beautiful too! What a great shot! I haven't seen one in years, I don't think we have them where I live now.
I am a Christian wife, mom to 5 and Grandma to two adorable little girls. I have 2 daughters and a son who were born to me and 2 sons who joined our family by marrying our daughters. I have been married to a wonderful Christian man for over 30 years. I work as a nurse at a long term care center, where I am blessed to get to know many older people and their families.

Wow. Before I read your caption I was wondering about the different colors on that huge trunk! That explains it. Very pretty looking.

That is a gorgeous tree and I've never seen one do that in the rain.
