There are many beautiful farms in Pennsylvania. It seems every time you come to the top of a hill you have a wonderful view before you. Pictures can't do it justice!

One of the things I liked best about Amish country was seeing the kids. We saw quite a few of them on bikes.

I plan to show you some pictures of our trip to Pennsylvania this week. This picture was taken at the local WalMart. They have a buggy shed there for the Amish to use. Our Walmart doesn't offer this service!

We've been really enjoying our time in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It is such a beautiful area. Yesterday we spent a lot of time driving around and seeing some of the Amish culture. It was laundry day at this house.

My sister and I are on a short trip to Pennsylvania to meet a blogging friend. We are enjoying the beautiful countryside along with the old buildings we have seen. As you know, I love barns, and I thought this was a really neat one!

Our neighbors got a new hammock. I think it looks quite inviting in the early morning sun!

The area we live in has very few snakes. The only snakes we usually see are little garter snakes.
The other day my husband came home from work and said "You've got to see what we have out here!" This snake was sitting on our front walk, right by the garage.
He was a big one - about 2 feet long and when we came near, he flattened his head like a cobra and hissed at us. Bob knew what type it was, and that it wasn't poisonous, so we weren't scared. However, I didn't care for it next to the house, so he took brought it over to the woods.
It's an Eastern Hognose Snake, also known as a Puff Adder.

On another drive down a country road near me, I found this barn. I thought it looked kind of forgotten. The vines appear to be taking over, and the car looks like it hasn't moved for some time.

There are quite a few farms around our house, and along with the farms comes cows. Most of them aren't this type though. When I stopped to take a picture, they walked right over. I must say - they don't look real happy to see me!

This is one of my favorite things! I love driving by a field and seeing the cut hay in rows, drying. Even better than the sight is the wonderful smell. My sister and I have decided that someone should make a candle that smells like fresh cut hay for us country folk!

Colts are so cute! I stopped on the side of the road to get this shot. This little one was standing next to his Mom, and after a minute they all started running.
Isn't he a pretty little thing?

Our climbing roses are doing really well this year. I love looking into the back yard and seeing the color!

*I can't take credit for the flowers. My husband is the one who does the planning and the working. I just admire them!

I was driving down a country, gravel road near me and was surprised to see this pretty scene. I am usually driving in the other direction and this area is hidden by trees. I was happy that I took the back way home!

This is my brother-in-laws car. It's an Austin Healey that he built from a kit. It was out for a graduation party for his son, so I took advantage of the opportunity to get a picture of it!

This little guy comes and sits on our porch daily. It drives Oliver crazy, because he wants to get at him and the glass door is in the way. The chipmunk seems to know he is safe with the glass between him, because he'll play around out there for a long time. It's pretty fun to watch the two of them!

I'm enjoying seeing so many of our flowers blooming. This is a type of perennial geranium. The flowers are so delicate looking and I love the color!
