April 15

This little barn is about a mile from my house, so I pass it frequently.  The road in front of it doesn't have a good place to pull off, and most of the view is obstructed by trees and bushes.  I'm always admiring it in the brief glimpse I get, and wishing I could get a picture of it!  This weekend the road was surprisingly quiet allowing me to stop and get this picture.
I love the rough siding and the mismatched windows.  Did you notice the door underneath it?  I thought that was unusual.

For more barns, visit Tricia at Bluff Area Daily.

Very nice red barn! I wonder how many of us stop in the road to get shots of the barns? Ha! Glad you got a shot of this one. It's very pretty!

i wonder why the sides look so rough, maybe the wood is falling apart. i really like that big old pine there beside it, looks good in the shot.

i almost didn't post tonight because of Boston, but we need something happy when things like this happen. i just hate that people are so evil.

thank you for joining, Mari

It really does have a lot of interesting textures. You're lucky to have it so close by. I know the feeling though of seeing something and not being able to pull off the road! Thanks for stopping by at my BC.

I'm esp. fond of barns with stone foundations. We have a lot of them around here. I've seen ones with doors in the stone, but I don't recall seeing a door this wide. The windows on the side are quite close to the ground also.
Love the red!
So wonderful that you were able to snap a close shot of it!:>)

Ilove the lower part. Tractor can pull right in there. Yes..it is pretty unusal, all I see around here are barns with some stone foundation but not that large. Nice shot. I agree sometimes I wish I could stop and cut some bushes for a better photo op.. :-)

That's a cute barn. I bet the opening in the lower section is so the cows can come in out of the rain while the hay is stored upstairs. Maybe, I'm just guessing.

A "barnlet"! Is that semi-underground floor common in your area? Glad you kept stalking it, Mari!

I like the strong color contrast between the red and the green.

What a great old building. A good place for the tractor, in the area beneath.

Thanks for stopping by my blog this week. See you Monday. :-)
