March 24

Every year my Dad saves and freezes the bone from the Christmas ham. He then passes it on to me and I make pea soup and have them over for supper. This has been a tradition for about 15 years now. Things do change in that time. My Mom has passed on, Dad has remarried and there are no longer 3 kids around the table but we still look forward to this night.
This year we waited a little longer in the year to make the soup so Andy could be home and spend the evening with us. Tonight was the night - the soup was delicious and so were the homemade rolls! We had a fun and tasty night.

Sounds like a great family tradition. It's nice that you continue to do this each year. We have had several traditions morph and change over the years as well, but the underlying roots are always there.

If it is as cold there as it is here tonight, Pea Soup sounds delish. I think it is great that Andy got some of it this year. I know that he must enjoy being with grandparents and sharing stories.

Mari, my husband does the same thing - mmmmm good! He and I love but sadly both kids don't...

Glad Andy was home to take part in this annual tradition and I believe your mom was there in spirit right along with you.

Wonderful family time! Great photo!
The paint color looks the same as what we painted a wall in our kitchen.
