This is an oak leaf hydrangea, which is in front of our house. You can see some of the dried flower heads on it. I think the leaves are so pretty, with the variations of colors, from light green, to reddish to a dark purple color.

I didn't know there was such a thing as an OAK LEAF hydrangea! The different colored leaves are beautiful! This is way prettier than the normal hydrangeas if you ask me....and you didn't. *chuckle*
I took some AWESOME sunrise pictures this morning and I'm dying to share them, but I want to wait and submit them for SkyWatch Friday. We'll see if I am patient enough to wait til then. lol
I tried to make my pictures larger on my blog and I was able to change one to 400. Because my middle column isn't very wide I can't do 640....when I tried that, it cut off part of the picture. Some of the ones I tried to make bigger would not enlarge and I'm not sure why. I tried several different ones, so I'm thinking it might have to do with the way I saved them. Some of them have already been resized for the web and so I know that's why it didn't work for them. Anyway, I am going to keep trying. Thanks for your instructions!
I am with Debra...I didn't know there was such a thing!!

They're beautiful Mari.
Beautiful photo, Mari! I've never heard of an oak leaf hydrangea ~ thanks for sharing!!! :)
Very pretty picture - the red leaf stands out beautifully. Like the hanging lantern too - do you put a candle in it?
Cheers.

I am joining the club of, "Never Knew There Was AN Oak Leaf Hydrangea" Absolutely GORGEOUS? Would you mind if I made a copy of it to paint??
I don't care what it is, I'd just like to have one, or two, or three!
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

I have some very rare and cool looking trees and plants in my property. I am a collector of plants. If you are ever in the Clinton Twp. area let me know. Or if you ever need a plant ID. I just love Mi. and the nature here.
it looks like blue leaves - fantastic colour!
