I visited my Dad today at the long term care center where he is receiving physical therapy after his total knee replacement. He's doing great and is supposed to go home on Friday. This fence borders the parking lot there. I love the old vines crawling across it and the vinca flowers bordering it.
Such a beautiful shot. I used to have the trailing vinca in a corner of my yard but it got to be intrusive to everything else so I spent several years trying to get rid of it. Now I wish I had it back. It actually stays green throughout the blistering heat of Phoenix summers as long as it has a tiny bit of shade. It doesn't really ask for much.
We used to have a dog named Vinca. We named her after the flower because when she was a puppy (and we were trying to figure out what to name her) she would eat the vinca's outside our front yard.
I am a Christian wife, mom to 5 and Grandma to two adorable little girls. I have 2 daughters and a son who were born to me and 2 sons who joined our family by marrying our daughters. I have been married to a wonderful Christian man for over 30 years. I work as a nurse at a long term care center, where I am blessed to get to know many older people and their families.

I'm glad he'll be going home this week. Knee replacements are tough.
