We have a flowering crab apple tree in the front of our house. It seems to flower beautifully every other year. On those years the whole tree is covered in pink flowers. This is the "off" year, where there aren't many flowers. However - I'm enjoying the ones that are there.

Beautiful Mari! We have a flowering crab in our backyard but it isn't stunning like this. Mind you it's only about 5 years old. It might also be a different species - it gets small flowers and berries on it.

I think it is the off year for just about everything. Our lilacs did not bloom so much and my Jewels of Tibet are so sickly. As in your wonderful picture, we will have to get up close and personal if we want to see the beauty this year.
Makes me eager for the ones here to bloom ... won't be long now.
It may be an 'off' year, but the blossoms are beautiful. Mine didn't look as pretty as yours this year.
