May 4

It's Tulip Time! Every year Holland Michigan is host to the Tulip Time Festival. The city is filled with tulips, Klompen dancing (Dancing in authentic Dutch costumes, wearing wooden shoes), parades, dutch food and special guests.
My sister, daughter and I walked through the streets of Holland today. I did have one issue - when I went to take a picture, I found that my memory card was left in my computer! I nearly had a panic attack! I had to borrow my sisters camera to take pictures. The tulips were past prime this year, because of early warm weather, followed by wind and rain. We still enjoyed what we saw!

Oh, how many times have I left my camera card at home! I know the feeling!

You still got some good pictures. My neighbor and I were talking yesterday about how the spring flowers and lilacs are somewhat lacking this year. Nothing popped like last year. Then some things came too early then got zapped with the cold.

If your memory card was still in your camera, isn't that where you would want it to be? I was a little confused at first but I think I get the drift. (I'm very tired so I may also be brain dead!) I always carry an extra battery with me in case my battery goes out or I leave the other one plugged up, and there have been a couple of times when I've driven a ways, taken a picture and discovered I have no memory card. I haven't yet invested in a spare, but it's on the top of my list of things to do.

The tulips are wonderful. Your collage is extra special and it is so neat to have a place nearby called Holland to take pictures of tulips!

I love tulips!! The Holland Festival must be great!
I understand your panik attack because of the missing memory card.
Once I went to the harbour to take pictures of the sunset and than I realized that the battery was still in the battery charger. Now I always think about the battery and the memory card before I go ...
Hugs, maike

Hi!
I read in you blog that you visited Dutch Dancing. I am from Holland Europe and I collect everything that has to do with our national symbol the Wooden Shoe, or as we say Klompen. I heard that some dancers break their shoes now and then. I am looking for photos of that. Do you have such photo(s)?
You could send them maybe to my emailadress vanloenenannemarie@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Kind reghards
