July 13

Isn't this a neat looking flower? It's called a moon lily, or moon flower. It is closed up during the day and unfurls in the evening. This picture was taken a little after 9 at night so it's not all the way open.

THis is a gorgeous flower, reminds me of a pinwheel. I think this would look great as a monochrome shot too.

Beautiful! I love the hint of purple, and the green center.

And to think this fabulous flower blooms only at night when most people are inside. Lusciously lovely.

I love Moon Flowers! I planted them early but they are just now winding their way up onto the stairway. Mine are the climbing ones. Are yours the bush kind? I have to plant my kind every summer. I think the other kind are perennial.

My MIL has these in her garden and when we are all together in the evening, we enjoy sitting and watching how many open in one night.
